Windston Smith lives in London, a bleak world plastered with slogans and posters of Big Brother. His every move is monitored by omnipresent telescreens, which also send out an endless babble of propaganda. But Winston is beginning to find ways to escape Big Brother - he dares to have feelings and thoughts of his own.
